One of the main reasons to buy a motorcycle is the road trip. Whether for two or three days or a few weeks, bikers daydream about leaving everyday life behind for the open road.

Many new to motorcycles never want to leave the saddle when they start riding. This was the intention of Deena Mastracci who set a long distance record immediately after earning her license.

Imagine if your first motorcycle ride wasn’t around the block or even an afternoon trip, but a record-breaking cross-country road trip.

To many riders, shipping their favorite motorcycle off to a distant land and touring the country from the comfort of a familiar saddle is a recurring fantasy.

While the number is definitely growing, female riders remain a relatively rare breed. According to a study released May 2014, only 12% of the riders in the United States were women. While that number may appear small at first glance, it’s actually a 30% increase over the last decade.
