While technology has become a riders best friend with both engineering advances and the ever handy motorcycle mounted GPS, video games aren’t immediately associated with the biker world.

The two worlds move closer together with the upcoming episode of American Chopper as Paul Jr’s team will produce a motorcycle inspired by a highly anticipated video game being released in ten days.

Being released exclusively on the Xbox, the third installment of Gears of War is the latest project for the team at Paul Jr. Designs, who will be seen visiting the talent behind the highly popular game on Monday’s episode.

But the motorcycle team’s imagination may not be stretched too far. Epic Games, the title’s development team have long wanted to put a motorcycle in the game itself and are seen showing sketches and renditions of their two-wheeled ideas.

Gears of War is one of the more successful titles on Xbox, developed by Epic Games and published by Microsoft Game Studios. Gears of War takes place on the planet Sera where mankind has fought a battle to near extinction against a race called the Locust. Played as a third person shooter, players take the role of Marcus Fenix who leads an elite team of soldiers.

The first game in the series, Gears of War sold over three million copies in just ten weeks and was the fastest-selling video game of 2006. Continuing in that success, Gears of War 3 can claim over one million pre-orders and is considered one of the most anticipated games of 2011. It’s no surprise then there is a lot of advertising and public relations around the videogame,

The finished product is a trike and if everything makes the final project, there could be some interesting mechanics included on this science fiction ride. The trike was already revealed as far back as July at San Deigo's Comic Con, a convention for comic books and video games.

The Gears of War concept will be featured on Monday’s episode of American Chopper at 9PM on Discovery.
