Tom Cruises into the motorcycle accident rumor mill, again
Pity poor Tom Cruise, after all never has a celebrity motorcycle enthusiast had to endure so many aspersions over their biker skills.
Whether from a foreign press in need of some celebrity gossip or a reporter who is trying to recycle an old news story, the Top Gun star is rumored to have crashed his motorcycle while showing off to a group of fans.
Again.
If this story sounds familiar, it’s because it is.
For a brief time some celebrity gossip websites reported, “The screen legend was treating teenage fans to a glimpse of his motorcycling skills when he lost control and crashed into a wall,” with Cruise supposedly riding a bike belonging to one of the teens. According to the story, the young owner of the motorcycle declined Cruise’s supposed offer to pay for damages.
Instead, the fan allegedly asked Cruise to sign the bike.
The publicist for Tom Cruise reportedly denied the event ever happened.
Which is what they said when the exact same story came out of Italy while Cruise was traveling with ‘Knight and Day’ co-star Cameron Diaz to promote the the newly released movie. It’s not surprising the denial was nearly the same for both rumors as the gossip itself was nearly identical, word for word.

For a slightly different version of the star who likes to ride suffering a motorcycle snafu, one needs only go back to March 2010. Then the gossip headlines claimed big screen superstar Tom Cruise had laid down his Ducati on La Cienega Boulevard in Hollywood. According to eyewitnesses, the Mission Impossible star and well-known motorcycle enthusiast, slide into an SUV leaving a slightly injured Cruise limping to a nearby restaurant to call paramedics who arrived thirty minutes later.
Jumping on the story Tom's publicist, Amanda Lundberg who told reporters the 47-year-old Cruise was not involved in any such incident.
"Totally false," she says of the report, which also claimed Cruise needed medical attention at a nearby hospital. "Not true at all."
Further denial came in the form of an official Tweet from Cruises Twitter feed claiming 'Tom NOT in motorcycle accident 2day...Tom tells us he hasn't been on his bike in days due 2 the weather, but when it clears up, look out. ;)'
Pictures that appeared soon after the 'accident' story confirmed that not only could the controversial heart throb handle the truth, he is more than happy to hand it out. Cruise was riding his way across the pages of gossip magazines and through the streets of Beverly Hills on his shiny and apparently untouched Ducati. Soon after and as if to further quell the gossip Cruise pulled up to the Scientology center in Hollywood, with both he and the motorcycle appearing to be in perfect working order.

And of course the most notorious, yet unproven Mission Impossible motorcycle rumor, Cruise causing a commotion a few years ago when he reportedly jumped to the top of the list for the first Ducati Desmosedici RR motorcycle, supposedly upsetting fellow celebrity biker Brad Pitt as well as Denzel Washington and Michael Jordan.
All of this would leave gossip columnists with an important lesson, video made us believe Cruise jumped up and down on Oprah’s couch, the same should be considered for the star falling off his motorcycle.
