Ducati's latest motorcycle monster rides to American shores
The latest in a revolutionary line of motorcycles will make its American debut on Friday, appearing in showrooms across North America.
The Monster 796 dealer premiere will take place at participating dealers throughout North America with an unveiling celebration event on the evening of Friday June 25th. For riders who can’t wait to get their hands on the motorcycle and butts in the saddle, the Monster will be available for test rides the following day, Saturday June 26th. Performance enthusiasts will have the opportunity to experience the lightweight and grin-inducing performance this new model has to offer firsthand.

The latest model rides in the tire tracks of some notable motorcycle moments. It was 1992 Ducati first unveiled the prototype that was to become an icon. Ducati’s creation awed the crowds and the world’s media of that year’s Cologne International Motorcycle show. The 900 Monster was the motorcycle that created a truly new niche dramatically styled, minimalist in stature yet bristling with innovative engineering solutions.
Since then the Monster has been characterized by a long and successful history, by its introduction during the years of numerous cylinders and uncountable color options, but above all by a constant technological evolution.
And as the first of the 2011 Ducati’s to arrive in North America, the Monster 796 is a truly unique addition to the Monster family with the Italian motorcycle manufacturer hoping riders are drawn by its exceptional value as well as its two wheeled styling.

The latest of Ducati’s air cooled powerplants puts out 87hp and 56lb/ft of torque, propelling the lightweight 367lb Monster to its destination in a rapid and comfortable manner thanks to the 796’s improved seat design and raised handlebars. The Monster 796 stands out in the Ducati lineup due to signature red elements such as the bike’s trellis frame, ¼ stripe on the wheels and more.
The Monster 796 will be available in white, black and Ducati red and will arrive at a consumer friendly MSRP of $9,995.
