Ducati makes motorcycle appearance in upcoming action movie
Fans of Ducati motorcycles have an action flick to add to their movie list.
Arriving in theaters on January 20th, what’s being called a ‘dynamic action-thriller’ is the latest from director Steven Soderbergh (Contagion).
The movie boasts a talented cast that includes Channing Tatum (GI Joe: Rise of the Cobra), Ewan McGregor (The Ghost Writer), Michael Fassbender (X-Men: First Class), Antonio Banderas (The Legend of Zorro), Bill Paxton (“Big Love”), Michael Douglas (Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps), Michael Angarano (Almost Famous) and the womand soon to ride into biker’s hearts everywhere, mixed martial arts (MMA) superstar Gina Carano as Mallory Kane.
In a demanding lead role that has her performing her own high-adrenaline stunts she is also seen in the saddle of a Ducati Monster 696.
The story;
Mallory Kane is a highly trained operative who works for a government security contractor in the dirtiest, most dangerous corners of the world. After successfully freeing a Chinese journalist held hostage, she is double crossed and left for dead by someone close to her in her own agency. Suddenly the target of skilled assassins who know her every move, Mallory must find the truth in order to stay alive.
Using her black-ops military training, she devises an ingenious - and dangerous - trap. But when things go haywire, Mallory realizes she’ll be killed in the blink of an eye unless she finds a way to turn the tables on her ruthless adversary.

Fight fans might recognize Carano, a retired mixed martial arts fighter, from her time as the Gladiator "Crush" on American Gladiators. What may not seem familiar is her voice.
Earlier this week, Steven Soderbergh released the first five minutes of the movie, scoring a lot of press coverage for Carano’s voice being distorted in the movie from her actual speaking voice.
The MMA star admitted there was some post production alterations.

“Steven Soderbergh wanted Mallory and Gina to be two completely different entities. I think in the sports world you end up falling in love with the person that is Gina Carano, and it makes it a little bit more difficult to take me and put me into a Mallory Kane type of character,” she says.
Reportedly, the award-winning director turned to the actresses voice for the change, making it more smokey.
“And so he did do some altering and mixing… and we went back into ADR and he worked really hard at making Mallory be a different entity. And he did a really genius job in that,” Gina adds.
