Boutique motorcycle hotel rides away with honors
It’s a motorcycle hotel in a city that could be considered America’s center of the biker universe and it is enjoying yet another round of industry accolades.
The timing couldn’t have been better for the Iron Horse Hotel located in Milwaukee as it celebrates it third anniversary this weekend.
For the second consecutive year, the Boutique & Lifestyle Lodging Association (BLLA) has named The Iron Horse Hotel the Boutique Hotel of the Year. The hotel was chosen because of its excellence in six important categories: Design & Architecture, Sustainability, Food & Beverage, Customer Service, Marketing & Sales and Operational Performance.
Since its inception, the 102-room Milwaukee hotel has been consistently recognized for its cutting edge blend of business traveler amenities and motorcycle enthusiast appeal. For riders the hotel offers services such as;
Secure, covered motorcycle parking
Check-in carts and rag bins
On-site bike wash
On-premise retail space with travel essentials and rider accessories
In-room hooks for heavy leathers and storage for boots and helmets
Rejuvenation spa services and special riding packages
The Iron Horse Hotel in Milwaukee is the transformation of a 100-year-old warehouse into a luxury Milwaukee boutique hotel that delivers an authentic Milwaukee experience. As the industry's first upscale hotel geared for business travelers and motorcycle enthusiasts alike, this Milwaukee hotel promises to ‘meet the distinct needs of both corporate and leisure guests with special services, unparalleled amenities and 100 loft-style guest rooms’.

In addition to being an AAA Four Diamond Hotel, the hotel has also been named to Conde Nast Traveler's Hot List, National Geographic Traveler's Stay List and Tablet10, the Top Ten Best Hotels in the Americas.
Located just blocks from the Frontier Airlines Convention Center and across the river from new Harley-Davidson Museum, The Iron Horse Hotel is in close proximity to downtown Milwaukee offices and entertainment. At the cross roads of the city's historic Fifth Ward and Latin Quarter, the hotel is the centerpiece of one of Milwaukee's last intact warehouse districts, designated historic by the National Park Service.

Adding to the prestige of The Iron Horse Hotel, owner Tim Dixon was named BLLA 2011 Hotelier of the Year. The acknowledgment comes as a result of Dixon's innovative thinking and creativity.
"I'm honored to have received these awards from BLLA and I accept on behalf of an amazing team," said owner Tim Dixon who accepted the award in Miami today. "This honor shows that exceptional, experiential and independent hotels can thrive in any market as long as there is a vision and commitment to customer service."
