BIC brings some close shaves to Sturgis Motorcycle Rally
There may be some close shaves at one of the more famous motorcycle events, the Sturgis Rally. But riders don’t need to worry, it’s all for a good cause.
BIC Flex4 razors is taking the BIC 4 Good program to Sturgis, South Dakota, making their appearance from August 4, 2011 through August 13, 2011, challenging motorcycle enthusiasts to "Get Real. Get BIC."
The appearance is to continue their 2011 BIC 4 Good fundraising efforts and will ask the nearly 500,000 estimated attendees at the 71st Sturgis Motorcycle Rally to shave their heads, in support of Kids & Chrome, a charity whose mission is to 'mobilize the generosity of the motorcycle community, enrich the lives of children and preserve the history of motorcycling'.
BIC made motorcycle headlines when they partnered with the men of Orange Country Choppers (OCC) in February 2011 to create a custom made motorcycle inspired by the BIC Flex4 men's razor.
The partnership and production were documented in an episode of "American Chopper: Senior vs. Junior," which aired on February 7, 2011 on the Discovery Channel. During the episode, the men of OCC bared their hearts and shaved their heads, mustaches and beards for BIC 4 Good to benefit the OCC Foundation.
Great new for custom motorcycle fans, BIC will be loaning the chopper, which incorporates the razor's four flexible blades, its comfortable grip, and even the BIC Boy, to the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum and Hall of Fame indefinitely for all to see.

The generosity and enthusiasm exhibited by the tough and philanthropic OCC crew inspired BIC to bring the BIC 4 Good program to Sturgis, along with the chopper, in an effort to raise money for yet another great cause, Kids & Chrome. Paul Teutul Sr. will even be on hand at BIC's pop-up barbershop at the Buffalo Chip Campground on August 10, 2011 to encourage shaves for charity and to show off the custom chopper inspired by the BIC Flex4 razor.
For those riders willing to shave for a cause, the BIC 4 Good Barbershop is located at the Buffalo Chip Campground to go bald for good and help raise money in support of Kids & Chrome. Or they can catch the BIC travelling roadshow at the following events;
Kids & Chrome Event , Sunday, August 7 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm , Garden Event Center at the Legendary Buffalo Chip Campground
Start rally week on a good note by supporting Kids & Chrome at their annual bash where BIC will unveil the OCC custom made BIC Flex4 Chopper. The bike will be on display at the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum and Hall of Fame for all to see following the rally.
Paul Teutul Sr. Visits the BIC 4 Good Barbershop, Wednesday, August 10 from 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm, BIC 4 Good Barbershop at the Buffalo Chip Campground
Riders can meet Orange County Chopper owner and reality TV star, Paul Teutul Sr., who will be on hand to sign autographs, challenge rally goers to go bald for good, and to present the keys of a brand new OCC custom-designed BIC Flex4 Chopper to the grand prizewinner of the "Get Real. Get BIC." national sweepstakes, that ran from April 1, 2011 through June 30, 2011.
BIC has promised to donate $40 for every head shaved at the barbershop, with a minimum guaranteed donation of $10,000, up to a maximum of $15,000.
In this case, it appears going bald is good.
