American Chopper kicks off head shaving campaign
Shaved heads and facial hair was the order of business last night on American Chopper as the crew at the famous custom motorcycle shop took the lead in a new Make-A-Wish Foundation campaign.
Originally filmed on December 13th, the hair-losing moment came as BIC has teamed up with Orange Country Choppers (OCC) as part of the 2011 BIC 4 GOOD program to ask Americans to shave their heads in support of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, a leading charity that grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.
"OCC has a long-standing relationship with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and we are happy to continue to support them through the BIC 4 GOOD campaign," said Paul Teutul, Sr., founder of Orange County Choppers, "BIC's reputation as a high-quality, reliable brand and the sleek design of their BIC Flex4 razor seemed like natural fit for us."
From February 7, 2011 through June 30, 2011, BIC will make a donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation for every submission on the BIC 4 GOOD website. To submit an entry, simply upload a video or photo of your newly shaved head, or for those who are a little razor shy, participate by shaving virtually. BIC's donations will vary by submission type, with $400 donated for every video, $40 for a photo and $4 for virtual shaves, with a minimum guaranteed donation of $50,000, up to a maximum of $75,000.
As the world wonders why there is a rash of bald bikers, riders should be on the look-out for the upcoming national sweepstakes promotion launching in April 2011 which will offer a trip to the legendary Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, in Sturgis, South Dakota. Orange County Choppers owner, Paul Teutul Sr., will present the sweepstakes winner with keys to a brand new OCC custom-designed BIC Flex4 Chopper.
"America loves the crew from OCC and the folks here at BIC can see why. Clearly they have big hearts, and were excited about going bald for a good cause on national TV," said Jamie Kistner, senior brand manager – Shavers, BIC Consumer Products USA. "The Make-A-Wish Foundation is a cause close to Paul Sr.'s heart and BIC 4 GOOD is thrilled to support it this year."
