Aside from fueling the collective anticipation of this new motorcycle reality show, the trailer gives glimpses into a fresh take on the two-wheeled subject matter.
The show will ride out on Sunday June 12th following a new episode of the highly anticipated drama ‘Preacher.’ The show, ‘Ride with Norman Reedus’ will air at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT and follow ‘The Walking Dead’ fan-favorite star and motorcycle enthusiast as he hits the open road to explore local biker culture and celebrate the best and brightest collectors, mechanics and craftsmen around the country.
AMC promises each one-hour installment of “Ride with Norman Reedus” will feature Reedus with a riding companion. The sneak peek shows a group of riders making their way through the winding roads of Death Valley. This is where the first hints are given that this isn’t your clichéd motorcycle reality show, with a variety of bikes seen. From small Harleys and adventure motorcycles to a chopper, which could be a flashback to the first motorcycle Reedus rode in The Walking Dead, the range of the rides starts the show setting its own rhythms.
Everyone wears sensible helmets and protective clothing and there is an equal amount of awe as the group stops to look down on the amazing view. The show doesn’t appear to position the riders as larger than life, arguing or suffering through great inter-personal dramas. Instead they’re ordinary riders enjoying the extraordinary experiences that can only be found with a motorcycle.
In a few words, they are you and me.
This humble, everyday approach won’t be surprising to the fans of Norman Reedus, which number in the millions worldwide. Aside from great stories and even better acting, one of the reasons Reedus has become one of the more popular stars on The Walking Dead is how connected he seems to be with his fans and everyone else outside Hollywood.
Look through Instagram and twitter feeds related to The Walking Dead or Norman Reedus and one picture after another of the actor with fans can be found. While why or how Norman Reedus has become successful isn’t really the subject matter for a motorcycle website, who he is and what he’ll bring to the upcoming show ‘Ride with Norman Reedus’ certainly is.
And it looks like it going to be a great ride on this particular motorcycle reality series.
The show will ride out on Sunday June 12th air at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT.
