Virtual Reality Motorcycle Ride Up Pikes Peak

Using a version of online virtual reality, motorcycle enthusiasts can put themselves at the center of a legendary racing event with the latest video pick from Clutch and Chrome.

We consider this an excellent, breathtaking way to end the week and comes from Victory Motorcycles. Using the small circle in the top right hand corner, the view of this pick can be shifted in this Youtube 360 video taken as Victory Racing rider Jeremy Toye roars up the Pikes Peak International Hillclimb on the Project 156 motorcycle.

The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb (PPIHC), also known as The Race to the Clouds, is an annual automobile and motorcycle hillclimb to the summit of Pikes Peak in Colorado, USA.

Aside from the fact this race has been around since 1916, what makes the event notable are the challenges faced by competitors. The track measures 12.42 miles over 156 turns, climbing 4,720 ft from the start at Mile 7 on Pikes Peak Highway, to the finish at 14,110 ft, on grades averaging 7.2%.

Being able to move the view makes this a video that can be watched over and over as riders use the 360 video to put themselves in the saddle of this powerful motorcycle during the historic event.
