Adventure Fans, Your Multistrada 950 Has Arrived!

What could be considered a rider’s affordable ticket to motorcycle adventures Ducati-style, roads be damned, is finally arriving in showrooms.

The newest, and most affordable entry into the Multistrada family, the Multistrada 950 is officially available beginning January 28, 2017, with the price starting at $13,995 MSRP. But according to Ducati, it’s not just the cost that makes this latest ride a great start for two-wheeled adventurers.

‘The Multistrada 950 provides a combination of comfort, style, and superior performance, making it an approachable versatile bike with all the technology and capability for which Ducati is world-renowned.’ The Italian motorcycle manufacturer notes.

The new 950 is an extension of the present Multistrada line-up, which currently includes the Multistrada 1200 S, Multistrada 1200 Enduro, as well as the Multistrada 1200 S Pikes Peak. Clutch and Chrome took a closer look at the Multistrada 950 last month along with a ton of pictures, but here’s a quick overview.

Equipped with the Italian brand’s Testastretta 937 cc engine and a 19″ front wheel the Multistrada 950 promises a comfortable balance for long-distance on/off-road touring as well a low fuel consumption making it good for daily riding and commuting. The L-Twin engine produces 113 horsepower and 71 lb-ft of torque and is coupled with a 6-speed transmission and standard ABS, traction control and Ducati’s four distinct riding modes.

Coming in four flavors, each offers its own take on the model.

Touring: Color matched panniers, center stand, and heated grips.

Sport: Ducati performance exhaust by Temignoni, billet aluminum frame plugs, and billet aluminum front brake reservoir cap.

Urban: Top case, tank bag, and USB hub to charge electronic devices.

Enduro: Supplementary LED driving lights, engine crash bars, aluminum radiator guard, aluminum sump guard, off-road pegs, tubeless spoked wheels, and aluminum panniers by Touratech.

Needless to say, Ducati has a showroom full of accessories for both the motorcycle and rider for those looking to make this unique slice of bike their own.
