Motorcycle
Mania 3:
Jesse James Rides Again
DVD
2005 / Sony Pictures
Length: 89 minutes
Just watch any of the different ‘custom-builder’ bike shows on
either Discovery or Speed and its plain to see what’s been
known to every other topic shown on TV. Just watching a
group of people actually do the job they do well and it
can make for boring television. However, throw in personal
drama, pain and angst and it gets top ratings.
This is obviously why the majority of Motorcycle Mania 3
focuses on Jesse James falling in and out of love more
than the actual fabrication of a custom bike. Depending on
what you want from this kind of documentary that can be a
good or bad thing. With the appearance of Kid Rock and
excellent photography as he and Mr. James
blasts
through Juarez and Chihuahua, past sun-scorched sand dunes
and gun-toting Federales in the badlands of Mexico the DVD
takes on a different pace than is usual in this kind of
show.
For those that like Jesse James, and judging by the number
of people wearing his clothing there’s quite a few, this
will be not only an interesting look into his life but a
different way of seeing it as well. For his critics, the
appearance of Kid Rock and beautiful backdrops could make
this DVD worth their time too.
