Garage Jewelry
Term for a Poser’s ride, usually a 3 or 4 year-old Harley in mint condition with about 1,200 miles on it, and soon to be offered for sale with the line, “no time to ride” in the ad.

Garbage Wagon
A nickname that used to be given to a motorcycle which had saddle bags, chrome and accessories added.

Gasodometer
Using the trip odometer to judge when to refill the gas tank.

Gauges
Used to monitor the following: Speedometer for speed, Tachometer for RPM (revolutions per minute), Odometer for miles traveled.

GBIS
Gorgeous But its Slow

Gear ratio
The ratio given to the different gears in a motorcycles transmission.

Gearhead
A rider who enjoys repairing and maintaining his motorcycle.

Gearset
A set of gears within a bike's transmission.

Get Off
To crash.

Giblets
Nickname for chrome accessories.

Ginmill
Nickname for a bar.

Gixer
Nickname for the GSXR Series of motorcycles.

Goatsbelly
Nickname for the silencing chamber in the exhaust system of later model Vulcans.

Gore-Tex
Used in motorcycle apparel its a thin, lightweight material inserted between the face fabric and the lining because its water and windproof but still breathable.

Grabbing a Handful
Applying brakes quickly or twisting the throttle in excess.

Greenpeace
A car driving ahead that although its covered in environmental stickers, its spewing black smoke.

Ground clearance
The distance between the ground and the lowest part of the motorcycle. 

Gyroscopic precession
The physics phenomenon that plays a part in countersteering. Also see Countersteering.
