Aerodynamics
A branch of
fluid dynamics concerned with the study of gas flows, first
analyzed by
George Cayley in the 1800s. The solution of an aerodynamic
problem normally involves calculating for various properties of
the flow, such as
velocity,
pressure,
density, and
temperature, as a function of space and time. In motorcycle
terms this would be used to describe how the design controls the
flow of air over and around the bike adding speed and comfort to
the ride.
Aftermarket
The industry that sells parts and accessories other than
original equipment manufacturers (OEM).
Air Intake
Valves
Reed Valves
Anchor
Brakes. Also referred to as ‘Anch's’.
Ape
Hangers
A type of handlebars which due to its shape raises the rider's
hands above his or her shoulders giving the impression the arms
are ‘hanging’. The overall look gives the impression of an ape
hanging in a tree. Also referred to as ‘Apes’.
