The famous custom motorcycle builder will get a cold shoulder this weekend, along with other icy body parts as he heads north for the latest death-defying feat in his television show.

Continuing its successful first season, “Jesse James Is A Dead Man” saddles a treacherous Arctic Ice Road, negative 60-degree temperature, and the superior capability of the BMW R 1200 GS Adventure motorcycle.

On Sunday, June 14 from 10:00 -11:00 p.m. , ET/PT, Spike TV will telecast the third episode of the new hit series “Jesse James Is A Dead Man,” where James will traverse the infamous Arctic Ice Road from Inuvik to Aklavik, Alaska.

This hazardous highway of snow and ice is home to some of the world’s most extreme conditions, including bitter below zero temperatures, piercing wind chills, and the perilous ice road itself that can open at any moment, swallowing a traveler instantly.

With virtually no traction on the unprepared ice and not a single gas station for miles for refuge or repairs, at least the BMW R 1200 GS motorcycle could offer some comfort and peace of mind, and not just from the heated handgrips.

“From motorcycle enthusiasts to those who just can’t get enough of Jesse James, this episode will provide viewers a chance to see the extreme capabilities of the BMW R 1200 GS motorcycle, and how it excels in what could be the world’s most inhospitable conditions,” said Roy Oliemuller, communications manager for BMW Motorrad USA.

For this perilous journey, a BMW R 1200 GS Adventure motorcycle was outfitted to fight the frozen north with a multitude of modifications, including studded tires and custom flame paint in typical Jesse James fashion. The BMW R 1200 GS Adventure motorcycle is coveted around the world as the only motorcycle that can tackle any terrain, from the African Desert to the Tibetan mountains, and come back for more. The GS series of dual sport motorcycles are at the forefront of adventure riding, which is quickly gaining in popularity in the United States due to its promise of fun and freedom both on and off road.

The show, which puts James in life threatening positions drew the largest audience ever with its premiere for an unscripted Spike TV series, being seen by 2 million viewers.

Jesse James is a custom motorcycle and car builder, producer, publisher, television host and restaurateur. In 2000, James started his TV career with Discovery Channel's "Motorcycle Mania," and in 2002 produced and starred in the international television hit, "Monster Garage." Before his TV gigs, James started West Coast Choppers by doing what he loved, building motorcycles in his mom's garage. As an expert welder, James produces only 12-14 bikes a year, making a very long wait list for his coveted custom machines.

More recently, James established his own production company, Payupsucker Productions, and in 2004, he became publisher of Garage Magazine. In 2006 he opened an eco-friendly burger joint, Cisco Burger, in Long Beach, CA.

To kick off the new series Jesse James rode a 1,000-horsepower motorcycle powered by highly combustible nitromethane fuel.

James will even place his life in the hands of his fans in a featured episode where he will reach out and ask his fans to come up with the craziest, most dangerous stunts imaginable for James to undertake.

"Our goal was to create a new and distinctive series for Jesse that is unlike anything else on television," said Sharon Levy, senior vice president of original series for Spike TV. "In this series, viewers will get to experience one of the most fearless guys on the planet in an entirely new way, taking on death-defying physical challenges each week."

And producers appear to have been successful with the record ratings including numbers in a demographic desirable to Spike TV, 900,000 of the viewers tuning into the première episode were men 18-49.
