A common topic among bikers is naming the well known faces
who enjoy riding motorcycles.
Many of those celebrities making the list will be found
at the world famous
LOVE RIDE, the largest
1-day motorcycle fundraising event set for for Sunday,
October 26, 2008. Celebrating its Silver Anniversary, LOVE
RIDE dates back to 1984 when founder & Chairman Oliver
Shokouh, owner of Harley-Davidson® of Glendale, launched the
event as a means to raise much needed funds for the Muscular
Dystrophy Association. The annual event now channels funds
to a diverse array of non-profit organizations, mostly local
Southern California and children’s charities. With
everything planned for this year, LOVE RIDE 25 is poised to
break all previous giving records.

As familiar LOVE RIDE faces are joined by new and of course
well known ones, there are many who still hope to attend.
For example, Mike Metzger, two time X-Game Freestyle
Motocross Gold Medalist is 99% sure he’s coming.
Lorenzo Lamas is scheduled to sing the National Anthem
for the ride and the concert wrapping up the LOVE RIDE will
feature Rock and Roll Hall of Famers ZZ Top and alt-rock
icons Foo Fighters, 2007 GRAMMY® winners for Best Rock
Album.
Approximately 25,000 bikers from around the world will
convene in Glendale, CA for the revved-up benefit, which has
raised over $20 million for various charities throughout the
years. In keeping with tradition, riders will start their
engines at 9AM at Harley-Davidson® of Glendale (3717 San
Fernando Rd., Glendale, 91204) and parade up Glendale’s main
drag, Brand Boulevard, before making their way over to
Pomona, where Fairplex gates are scheduled to open at 10AM.
LOVE RIDE 25 is the
centerpiece of
California Bike Week (CBW),
the state’s premiere motorcycle event (Oct. 24-26).
