Violence erupted between motorcycle gangs at a peace rally
in California over the weekend.
The ironic incident took place during a Stop the Violence
Rally at Victory Outreach Church in Los Banos, California.
According to police officials, members of the Mongols
motorcycle gang peacefully attended the rally which hosted a
car and bike show. However, nearly a dozen members of the
Hells Angels rode by the event in the late afternoon,
confronting the Mongols.
An argument turned into a fight which lead to shots being
fired from a handgun and although no one was shot, stab
wounds were reported from the violence.
Several law agencies responded to the incident and
arrests were made relating to weapons found members and
their motorcycles. Despite the violence, organizers plan to
hold the event again next year.
"We have to bring awareness and come together as a
community," Rev. Chris Castaneda from Victory Outreach
Church told reporters.
Officials have said that a motorcycle show scheduled for
July 11 at the Los Banos Fairgrounds will also still be
held, but with added security.
