Celebrities and the humble motorcycle have shared a colorful
past, so it was no surprise when avid rider and late night
show host Jay Leno took an exclusive tour of
Harley-Davidson's Museum.
Jay
Leno, host of “The Tonight Show” on NBC and avid
Harley-Davidson® motorcycle enthusiast, enjoyed a preview of
the Harley-Davidson Museum during a recent visit to
Milwaukee.
Stacey Schiesl, Senior Director, Harley-Davidson Museum and
Factory Tours, and Jim Fricke, (pictured right with Jay
Leno) Director, Curatorial, Harley-Davidson Museum,
provided the late-night television show host with a tour.
During the visit, Leno enjoyed showcasing his knowledge of
the Company’s history and surely impressing the
professionals.
The Harley-Davidson Museum hopes to bring alive the
passion and stories of the extraordinary people, culture and
history of Harley-Davidson. Currently under construction on
a 20-acre parcel of land near downtown Milwaukee, Wis., the
Harley-Davidson Museum will also feature a restaurant, café,
retail store, and inviting grounds.
The groundbreaking of the museum was accomplished in
Harley-Davidson style: by setting aside the traditional
golden shovel and instead, literally 'breaking the ground'
with a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Legendary Harley-Davidson
dirt track racer Scott Parker performed a burnout on a XL
883R Sportster motorcycle sending dirt flying off the
spinning rear tire.
The museum plans to open on July 12th.
