Motorcycle law enforcement honor their own during National Police Week

A ride by
hundreds of motorcycle riding law enforcement officers will
honor their own who gave their lives in the line of duty
during National Police Week 2008, which runs from May 11 -
17.
A number of
events are scheduled in and around the National Law
Enforcement Officers Memorial in downtown Washington, DC, to
honor the sacrifice of officers killed in the line of duty
and to salute the men and women who continue to serve and
protect. The Memorial is located in the 400 block of E
Street, NW.
The 13th
Annual Law Ride will take place on Sunday, May 11th at 11am
and include law enforcement officers and supporters from
across the country. The ride starts at RFK Stadium finishing
at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial where
wreaths will be laid in honor of those officers, in
particular motorcycle officers, who gave their lives in the
line of duty. U.S. Transportation Secretary Mary Peters is
expected to participate. |
