Obscene gesture to police leads to chase and motorcycle accident
The Staff of Clutch and Chrome
May 7th 2008

Its human nature, if a riders motorcycle pipes are too loud or a biker really can't afford another ticket, the sight of a police officer makes them try to blend into the background or look for an alternative route.

Unless you're Frank Patti of New York State. Not only did he give two police officers a rude gesture yesterday, but pulled a wheelie in front of them in the city of Copiague, all while riding an unlicensed motorcycle.

When the police followed, Patti weaved in and out of traffic and pulled another wheelie during the pursuit. His judgment was sound until the end, crashing the 2006 Kawasaki into a police cruiser at the end of the chase.

Frank Patti, 26, was arrested and held on $5,000 bail, the motorcycle has been impounded pending verification of ownership.
