April 30th 2008

A judge in Spain is deciding the fate of fifteen riders who allegedly raced their motorcycles on a deadly stretch of road in Mallorca.

The strongest evidence was found on the popular video hosting website, Youtube.

The images shown were recorded on the same stretch or road between Caimari and Selva, where two youngsters, aged 16 and 17, died as a result of the races of the group, which called themselves ‘Pikas de motos’ last April 4.

It was that accident which led to the start of investigations into the group.

The accused are between 19 and 31 years of age and if found guilty they could face two to five years in prison. Their motorcycles were impounded and the riders are waiting for the judge to decide the case.
