The small central Florida town of Leesburg played host to an estimated 250,000 to 300,000 bikers during its recent motorcycle rally.

The 12th annual Leesburg Bike Week which wrapped up on April 27th reported nine traffic accidents, but no fatalities during the event. Other numbers of note;

  • Six motorcycles were stolen during the event.
  • Police handed out 10 traffic citations related to the event
  • Law enforcement dealt with another 10 incidents involving intoxicated people from Bikefest.
  • The department took in 153 calls for service linked to the event.

Officials were pleased with the numbers as the event completed its second year of no fatalities. Local police worked with state agencies after the 2006 Bikefest resulted in six people losing their lives.

For those that couldn't attend the event, organizers have made video shot during the rally available on the rally's website.
