A foreign film
maker in Wisconsin making a documentary about
Harley-Davidson found himself facing an unexpected
motorcycle opportunity over the weekend.
As
soon as Japanese film star Shinji Takeda (pictured right)
heard about Fond du Lac's 22nd annual Ride for Pride in
Wisconsin benefiting the Muscular Dystrophy Association, he
decided to join the ride.
The ride
consisted of a 100 mile scenic motorcycle tour, a buffet
dinner, silent auction, and entertainment, all in
temperatures in the lower 30's along with a cutting wind.
The ride was
organized by the Fond du Lac HOG Chapter and Open Road
Harley-Davidson, and probably never expected a Japanese film
star to join in the event. Shinji Takeda owns a
Harley-Davidson motorcycle in Japan and is an avid rider.
Last year,
riders helped raise more than $62,000, with net proceeds
from this year's event will also go to Lions Camp for
handicapped children, Solutions Center in Fond du Lac and
Cops for Kids. |
