The
grandfather of motorcycle rallies makes an appearance on
scratch-off lottery tickets this week as the Sturgis
Motorcycle Rally instant scratch game goes on sale
Wednesday.
Sales of the
South Dakota Lottery’s new Sturgis Motorcycle Rally instant
scratch game will start on April 30 with a special event in
Sturgis.
Sturgis
Mayor Maury LaRue will join Lottery director Norm Lingle to
scratch the first ticket of the game at the Exxon Common
Cents store at 2421 Junction Ave. in Sturgis. Twisted
Choppers of Sioux Falls will also be at the event displaying
the custom chopper featured on the lottery tickets.
The event
begins at 11:00 a.m. (MT) with brief remarks from Lingle and
LaRue, followed by a Lottery Spin ‘n’ Win promotion until
1:00 p.m. During the Spin ‘n’ Win promotion, players buying
$5 in scratch tickets, including two of the Sturgis
Motorcycle Rally tickets, can spin a prize wheel to win
Lottery, Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and Twisted Choppers
merchandise and lottery tickets.
The Sturgis
Motorcycle Rally instant scratch game arrives at stores on
April 30. The $2 scratch tickets will be sold at the South
Dakota Lottery’s 620 plus retail locations statewide. The
game has more than $467,000 in prizes for players to win,
including three top prizes of $10,000.
The launch
of an instant scratch game in celebration of the annual
Sturgis Motorcycle Rally is a first for both the Lottery and
the Rally. The unique game has already attracted national
attention in the lottery industry, with stories about the
game appearing in the trade publications LaFleur’s and
Lottery Insights magazines. |
