Successful
motorcycle manufacturers are always looking for
opportunities to further the image of the brand they've
worked so hard to build.
Ducati has
raced into the world of fine wines with the introduction of
a new vintage, DesmoRosso 2006. Introduced in Verona at the
Vinitaly 2008 exposition, the wine will be sold exclusively via the
internet and is currently
served by the glass in a few select wine bars and cellars in
Italy and Europe.
The wine is
a 'unique blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and
Carmenere grapes, has resulted in an elegant and well
structured wine, rich and strong, with personality
profoundly linked to the terrain from where it grows,”
according to Paolo Padrin, owner of the winery Le Pignole in
Brendola (VI), creator and producer of DesmoRosso, “this
wine is distinctly Italian and, at the same time, suitable
to represent the Ducati colors throughout the world.”
“With the
creation of DesmoRosso,” declared Gabriele Del Torchio,
General Executive Manager of Ducati, “we wanted to tie our
brand and our values to a product of the highest caliber: a
wine of distinction, destined to satisfy the wine
connoisseur. With this wine, we add clarity to our
philosophy – to strive passionately for absolute
excellence.”
The website
selling Ducati's new wine promises, 'During the year we will introduce new types of wines, one for each occasion in your life.'
Recently,
Ducati licensed the Binda Group to produce and distribute a
worldwide line of watches. The MotoGP winning
motorcycle manufacturing is hoping for Binda Group, to
design swiss-made watches for 'Ducasti's', the nickname for
Ducati fans. |
