Breaking Motorcycle News on Clutch and Chrome!
Motorcycle riding Idol rocks the Beatles
By the Staff of Clutch and

March 11th, 2008
It was an interesting night
on American Idol with the highlight of background footage
surely being the brief shot of Amanda Overmyer riding with
the rest of her motorcycle mad family and friends.
Oh yes, there was some
singing too.
The competition before
our every own motorcycle riding, rocking nurse graced the
stage varied from absolutely
amazing to quickly unforgettable, and the performances
couldn't be blamed on a funky theme. The song selection came
from the best writing duo in rock or pop history, John
Lennon and Paul McCartney.
Contestants appeared to be
able to choose from the earliest Beatles hits right up to their
last album, Let it be.
So what would Amanda
Overmyer choose from over thirteen albums and many, many
great singles?
Her choice was 'Can't do
that', one of the Beatles early numbers but dressed up with
rock rhythms and some scat. Amanda's performance was
absolutely on fire with so much energy, it felt as if she
should be hooked up to a power grid to light up a city.
Randy felt she brought a
Southern bar feel to the song and "Rocked it out."
"You are a star up there,"
Paula exclaimed, "I'm blown away!"
Although Simon didn't feel
the performance was as good as the week before, he felt
Amanda "was a very good thing. You're like a breath of fresh
air!" he said.
It was an uneven episode of
performances that saw
favorites such as David Archuleta not only hit some flat
notes, but also forget the words of the song.
