Motorcycles and rock still rule on American Idol

The motorcycle riding nurse
from Mulberry, Indiana made it through another round of
American Idol.

Because American Idol loves
giving each show a musical theme, this weeks competition was
anchored in
70's music. Wearing a new hairstyle and
some sexy white snakeskin pants, Amanda Overmyer sang
Carry On Wayward Son by Kansas,
on Wednesday when all the women performed.
Although Randy loved the
group Kansas, he felt, "there were too many instrumental
breaks for a singer [trying to show her stuff]."
"You're a brilliant artist,
but it wasn't the right song," was Paula's opinion.
Simon said it was an
indulgent choice, calling it "an ugly song and he didn't get
it."
Randy joined in a chorus of
helpful hints after the official judges comments advising
Amanda she was a bluesy rock person. It was her bag.
Many women were criticized
for their choice of songs, which the judges felt didn't
showcase either their talent or strengths.
Alaina Whitaker and Alexandrea
Lushington were voted off from the group of girls while
Jason Yeager and Robbie Carrico couldn't muster enough votes
among the men to remain on the show.
Meanwhile, Amanda Overmyer is
making headlines for a DUI arrest in Crawfordville, Indiana
two years ago. She was pulled over after authorities clocked
her driving more than twice the speed limit in a 45 MPH zone
as well as running a red light, according to news reports.
Clutch and Chrome will report
Amanda Overmyer's next appearance and the number to vote her
onto the next round of American Idol. |
