Questions about this
Motorcycle Database
answered.
What's the purpose of the
database?
The number of registered
motorcycle owners in the United States has grown to over
6
million. That's a lot of new riders who may well know how to get
their new bike customized, where to shop for the latest biker
fashions and maybe even find the more well-known, mainstream
motorcycle clubs. But do they have a real choice of like-minded
people to ride with?
With the
Clutch and Chrome Motorcycle Database,
new, growing clubs can have the same exposure as the larger,
established ones. Not only does it help the clubs find potential
members but also gives the new or unattached biker all the
information they need to pick the right group of fellow riders for
them.

Can I trust
you with my email information?
For your club to be listed in
the Clutch and Chrome the
information needs to be completed in full. This includes an email
address for interested riders to get in touch with you and your
club. As with all the information submitted to Clutch and Chrome,
we'll respect your privacy, never sell or redistribute it except as
agreed. Every effort will be made to ensure that data and
email 'mining' programs can't harvest your information when it
appears on the Clutch and Chrome website.

How much does it cost?
Being included in, and
using the Clutch and Chrome Motorcycle
Database is a free service on our totally free website.

All we ask is you
consider a reciprocal link, linking your club's website to
Clutch
and Chrome in the form of a small
non-offensive graphic
(see below).

What is a reciprocal link?
re-cip-ro-cal
adjective - consisting of or functioning as a return in kind.
It's standard
practice in cyberspace to promote the websites featuring you and
yours, and it's usually done in the form of a Reciprocal Link.
A reciprocal link is a hyperlink in the form of a banner or graphic
to a site that carries a similar link to your own site. Or as in the
case of Clutch and Chrome, featuring your Motorcycle Club.
This inclusion on your
website is purely voluntary. We don't have and will never hire any
reciprocal link police!!!

Why do we need a reciprocal link on our motorcycle club webpage?
There are websites that charge
motorcycle clubs to be included in their database and the consequent
search. We at Clutch and Chrome want to take the spirit we riders
have on the road and bring to the website. Just
as we wouldn't charge for telling you about a great ride as we
shared a cup of coffee at a local biker stop, there's no fee to share the news about your motorcycle club on our website.
We're proud to
feature you on our site and all we ask is you show the same
brotherhood and pride. This is to let any visitors to your site know
about this new, upcoming and great resource on the internet for
bikers. Clutch and Chrome!

How do we
put the reciprocal link on our website?
The link is easy to
install, just a few lines of HTML code that can be copied from our
site and pasted on your own. Place it anywhere on the front
page of the motorcycle club's website, we promise it won't affect the
speed or operation of your website in anyway. You don't even
have to store the graphic on your website, we'll host it (or keep
it) here on ours. This is what it'll look like;

Instructions on
how how to insert the link into your club website will be included
in the thank you screen which automatically appears once you
submit your club to be included in our database.
If you closed the
thank you page before getting all the info, or need the information
again, go to our
reciprocal link page.
