Clutch and Chrome's Blog Directory
Fact Page
What is a Blog?
Blogging is the latest phenomenon in the internet world.
Wikipedia,
the free internet encyclopedia defines a blog as 'website
for which an individual or a group frequently generates text,
photographs,
video or
audio
files, and/or links, typically (but not always) on a daily
basis. The term is a shortened form of weblog. Authoring a blog,
maintaining a blog or adding an article to an existing blog is
called "blogging". Individual articles on a blog are called
"blog posts," "posts," or "entries". The
person who posts these
entries is called a "blogger".
In
the world of motorcycle blogs subject matter can range
from brief news headlines that link back to the original story,
to detailed accounts of memorable rides, rebuilding a bike and
other more personal events. Some are created by a team of riders
while others are the results of one persons hard work and
effort.

Some
companies like
Blogger,
MSN and

offer the tools and hosting (your presence in
cyberspace) at no cost with the only downside seen by some
as the limitations in page design and available web address, or

services is the simplicity, especially for the beginner blogger.

How do I add my blog to the Motorcycle Blog Directory?
As with all the information found
on our website, Clutch and Chrome doesn't charge to have
your blog listed in our
Blog Directory. However,
we'd like a
reciprocal
link and your blog meeting the following criteria;
It's free to the general public
and is accessible without fee's, subscriptions or password
protected content.
The
blog is about or relates to motorcycles.
If
you feel your blog meets the above lengthy criteria then email
the
Blog Directory Editor with all the requested
information. Once added to the directory the reciprocal link
should appear on your blog within two weeks.
Please note that dead links, blogs that haven't been updated for
a certain amount of time, or blogs that change their subject
matter from motorcycles will be removed. The approval and removal of any blog is at the discretion
of the Clutch and Chrome staff. Yes, we have the power.

What is a reciprocal link and
how do I add it?
re-cip-ro-cal
adjective - consisting of or functioning as a return in kind.
It's standard
practice in cyberspace to promote the websites featuring you and
yours, and it's usually done in the form of a Reciprocal Link.
A reciprocal link is a hyperlink in the form of a banner or graphic
to a site that carries a similar link to your own site. Or as in the
case of Clutch and Chrome, featuring your Blog.
We're proud to
feature you on our site and all we'd like you to show the same
brotherhood and pride. It'll let any visitors to your blog know
about this new, upcoming and great resource on the internet for
bikers. Clutch and Chrome!
If you've had your blog for
any amount of time, adding a reciprocal link isn't new. As you know, it's
easy to do and won't affect the performance of your blog in anyway. Here's
how to do it;
If your blog
has been selected as Blog of the week, although you're
more than welcome to use the following code, but the
award entitles you to a specific award-winning graphic. If you
didn't receive an email directing you to the webpage to find
this code, email the
blog directory editor.
This is how the graphic will
appear;

Simply copy and paste the following
code, inserting it wherever you'd like the graphic to appear on your
blog. That's it! You don't even have to store the graphic on your
blog, we'll host it (or keep it) here on ours.
If you still have questions, or
can't get the link to work, feel free to contact
Blog Directory Editor
and they'll be more than happy to
help you!
