Motorcycle fans from all over the world are gearing up to descend on Sturgis, S.D., August 5 -11, for the 73rd Annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
In no small coincidence, GEICO announced today that it will serve as the exclusive insurance partner of Buffalo Chip and the City of Sturgis at the largest motorcycle rally in the U.S.
“We are extremely excited to participate in our ninth year as a sponsor for such a great event. Sturgis is among the largest and most well-known motorcycle rallies in the world,” said Ted Ward, GEICO vice president. “With more than half a million motorcycles, travel trailers and motorhomes (RVs) in attendance, the event gives us great exposure and an opportunity to connect with our customers and promote our family of insurance products.”
For the past nine years, GEICO has been a major part of America’s largest motorcycle rally. The company will have activities and events at two locations in Sturgis. On Main Street next to the Armory, there will be a GEICO booth for the fans with tons of rally giveaways and a roaming Gecko.
The Buffalo Chip’s location is a Sturgis landmark, boasting an assortment of activities throughout the week, live music, bike shows, outdoor expo and campground.
The GEICO military tribute bike created by Paul Teutul, Jr., of the Discovery Channel’s television show, “American Chopper,” will be on display at Buffalo Chip as part of GEICO’s military bike tribute tour.
“The GEICO military bike tour is a great way to honor the sacrifice, commitment and courage of our military personnel,” said Ward. “And Sturgis is the ideal place to pay tribute with so many of the rally participants being associated with our armed forces.”
